Prayer is a gift that God has given people so that they can have a relationship with Him built on faith. According to Philippians 4:6, we are not to be anxious about anything, but in everything we are to pray with all sorts of prayers and God’s promise is that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds. God wants to hear about every detail of your life. Prayer is the engine room of a believer’s life.
In prayer, you can talk to and encounter God. You can share your heart with Him and hear what He wants to say to you. There is nothing too big or too small to talk about with God. The Bible tells us that we can have friendship with God. While we always want to be in reverence of God, we can talk to Him like we would a friend.
God answers prayer
Jesus said that if we abide in Him (have an intimate relationship with Him) and His words live within us then we can ask anything in His name, and He will do what we ask of Him. God is faithful and will always answer your prayers but perhaps not as you imagine. What we know for sure is that God is working all things together for the good of those who love God (Romans 8:28).
